Dried Catnip is your cat’s favorite plant!
Here are several ways to use it:
- Sprinkle on their toys or accessories: Sprinkle a small amount of dried catnip on a toy, scratching post, or cat tree. This will make these objects more attractive and stimulate your cat’s play.
- Fill a toy or fabric pouch: You can buy or make a small fabric pouch and fill it with dried catnip. Your cat can safely sniff, lick, and nibble on it. (You’ll find some in our online store!)
- Rub on a scratching post or cushion: If your cat ignores its scratching post, rub a bit of catnip on it to encourage use. You can also sprinkle some on your cat’s cushion (available in our online store) or bed to make it more appealing.
- Place in a box or carton: Add a little dried catnip to a cardboard box to create a fun play area.
- Make a light infusion (less common option): Some owners prepare a mild catnip tea, let it cool, and offer it to their cat. (Be aware that not all cats enjoy this form.)
Precautions
• Use in moderation: Too much catnip can make a cat overly excited or, on the contrary, lethargic.
• Temporary effect: The euphoric effect usually lasts between 5 and 15 minutes.
• Not all cats react the same way: About 30% of cats are not sensitive to catnip due to their genetics.
