FAQ
How often can I give this herb to my cat?
You can give the cat grass to your pet twice a week. Catnip is not dangerous; however, excessive consumption can increase the frequency of vomiting, which may lead to dehydration. If your cat starts consuming more plants, it could indicate a fiber deficiency in their diet.
At what age can I give the cat grass to my cat?
It is recommended to introduce cat grass into your cat’s routine between 6 months and 1 year of age.
How to care for cat grass plants?
Simply water your plants regularly (or place the pot in a bowl with a small amount of water) and keep them in a well-lit room to help them grow. If you want to slow down the plant’s growth, you can store the pot in the fridge
What does a catnip cushion (toy) contain?
It contains dried catnip, which cats love.
Catnip (or Nepeta cataria) has a stimulating effect on many cats due to nepetalactone, a chemical compound found in its leaves and stems. Here are its main effects:
1. Euphoric behavior: Cats may rub, roll, jump, or meow excitedly after being exposed to catnip.
2. Relaxing effect: After the excitement phase, some cats become calm and relaxed.
3. Short duration: The effect usually lasts 5 to 15 minutes, after which cats temporarily become immune to the plant for about an hour.
4. Individual response: Not all cats react to catnip. Around 30% of cats (and kittens under 3 months old) are not sensitive to it due to genetic factors.
These effects are harmless to cats. Catnip is often used to enrich their environment, encourage play, or help them relax.
